"Advanced Services" has many deffinitions, but in the world of Non-Destructive Testing, it refers to the implementation of newer, more advanced technology within certain basic methods. Utilizing these "Advanced Technologies" allows the technician to perform more detailed and "in-depth" inspections to determine the extent and even root cause of particular damage mechanisms within a system.  SubSea NDT can provide the foundational training for the use of these technologies in a number of different methods.

 

Alternating Current Field Measurement Testing


An advanced electromagnetic training course designed for ET Level II, Level III and NDE management and Supervisory personnel. This class is also ideal for individuals wanting to learn the use of ACFMT equipment and software analysis. 

This course will present ACFMT examination methods for surface flaw detection and characterization techniques in welds and materials susceptible to mechanical fatigue and thermal fatigue. These methods can be applied to piping, plate, and vessel components in petroleum, chemical, fossil, nuclear, and aerospace industries or any industry involved in electromagnetic examination of conductive product forms.

Advanced Ultrasonic Flaw Characterization Course


An advanced ultrasonic training course designed for Level II, Level III and NDE management and Supervisory personnel. This class is also ideal for individuals planning to take the API QUTE or other similar Performance Demonstration examinations testing your detection and characterization skills.

This course will present ultrasonic examination methods for flaw detection and Time of Flight (TOF) characterization techniques in welds and materials susceptible to Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking (IGSCC/SCC), mechanical fatigue and thermal fatigue. These methods can be applied to piping, plate, and vessel components in petroleum, chemical, fossil, nuclear, and aerospace industries or any industry involved in ultrasonic examination of metallic product forms.

This “hands-on” practical advanced ultrasonic course includes shear wave and refracted longitudinal wave techniques for detection and signal characterization techniques to address the effects of echo dynamics, rise and fall time, and pulse duration for the identification of the ultrasonic signals.

Phased Array Introduction 40 Hour Course (PAUT-101)

This advanced ultrasonic training class is ideally suited for any individual who has a good understanding of conventional ultrasonic theory. Whether you are a Manager, Engineer, Auditor, or Inspector, this training class will provide you with foundational knowledge to understand the physics and basic equipment operation involved with phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT).

If you’ve never had PAUT theory training, then this class should be your first step. Our training classes blend theoretical training and lab exercises to help maximize the learning potential. We prepare you by training with state of the art equipment and have one of the largest collections of real flawed samples which also help prepare individuals for the real world.

This class is an essential step for individuals seeking certification in PAUT. SNT-TC-1A and CP-189 require 80 total hours of PAUT formal training. This class, in combination with the PAUT-102, follows and fulfills the Topical Outline for Qualification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel CP-105.

Advanced Phased Array for Weld Inspection (PAUT-102)

This advanced ultrasonic training class is ideally suited for individuals who have already been trained in basic theory and equipment operation in phased array. If you lack understanding of PAUT theory, lack proficiency in equipment operation, or would just like a refresher in these areas, we highly recommend taking our PAUT-101 class in conjunction with this class.

PAUT-102 dives into the more advanced applications of phased array. This class mostly focuses on the methodologies of scan planning, advanced grouping, and discontinuity detection and characterization as applied to the inspection of welds. This class, just like all our training classes, blends theoretical training and lab exercises to help maximize the learning potential. We prepare you by training with state of the art equipment and have one of the largest collections of real flawed samples which also helps prepare individuals for the real world. At the end of this course, students can expect to have a thorough understanding of how to apply phased array in all weld inspection applications.

This class is an essential step for individuals seeking certification in PAUT. SNT-TC-1A and CP-189 require 80 total hours of PAUT formal training. This class, in combination with the PA-101, follows and fulfills the Topical Outline for Qualification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel CP-105.
